Unable to buy food never mind pay the rent. Jobs are scarse and the whole place is in disarray, the police doing the best they can to make the place look decent again. Even if it means wiping out the 'scum' that live on the streets.

She melted into him when he kissed her. Why did she have to go to work tonight?! He was making it harder and harder for her to leave. Offering a ride... she wouldn't want to get out of the car. Telling her that he'd be there later... she'd spend the night looking for him. All in all, she was going to be one distracted girl.
Feeling him pull away, she groaned in frustration and looked up at him. He always made it so she couldn't say no. Did he do that on purpose. Shrugging, she sighed. "I don't see why not." she mumbled, slowly getting up. Any longer and she'd be late for work, especially with the things running through her mind right now.

Cameron frowned slightly when she said that she had to be there in an hour. He was really not excited about her going to work. He knew what was going to happen and he didn't want it to. He dug his face into her neck and kissed her lightly. He didn't want her to go yet. "I can bring you over if you want." At least then, he'll know she's okay going in. He could head somewhere else for a bit, meet with his friends. He'd end up at the strip club at some point.
"That way you wouldn't have to walk. And I'll be at the club later, no doubt." At least, by the time that he got to the club, he'd have a partial buzz and could possibly behave himself as he watched Riley do what she needed to. He knew that it wasn't really her dancing that he was going to have a problem with...it was definitely going to be the guys there, feeling her up. He pulled away from her neck and looked at her. "How's that sound?"

Riley didn't want to look at the clock. She knew that it would tell her something that she didn't want to know. If anything, that damn thing was her enemy. But she squeezed her eyes and looked over to the small clock on his nightstand. Almost immediately, she recoiled from it. There was a good reason why she didn't like time, and now it was becoming more and more clear that it was out to get her.
"An hour." she muttered under her breath. Going to the club was terrible. And now it was going to be worse. Hundreds of eyes staring at her, hands touching her, pawing at her. The only person she wanted to do that to her was Cameron. And there was no way that she was going to ask him to go with her. If she didn't like being there, he was pretty sure he wouldn't want to be there waiting for her to get off of her shift. Sighing, she took in a large breath, his scent tainting the air. "I should get going now."

Cameron let his hand run along her back and he looked at the wall across from them as he waited for her to answer him. He silently wondered why it was taking her so long to say something. Surely his question wasn't that difficult. Was there something that she was thinking that she didn't want him to know? There could be, but he hoped that that wouldn't happen later on. He didn't want her to have to hesitate before answering any of his questions.
He looked down at her when she finally spoke. Yeah...work. He was supposed to be at the garage all day today. He was glad that Riley had showed up to distract him. He'll probably have to call and make sure Jake didn't fuck anything up. He prayed that he didn't. Cameron did not want to go down there for any reason. He nodded slightly at her, as he continued to think. "When do you have to go?" he asked. He hoped that it wasn't any time soon. He wanted his time with Riley before she had to go to that damn club.

Riley didn't want to answer his question. The fact that the image of the Bloods ripping him apart had been popping in and out of her head more and more lately was making her cringe. It was almost with desperation that she squeezed her eyes shut so tight she was sure that they would never open again. But she wasn't that lucky. They opened just fine. But she didn't look at him, she kept her head on his shoulder and chose to stare at his neck.
Sighing, she knew she had to answer him. "Work," she lied. Okay. That wasn't necessarily true, but she wasn't about to mention seeing him being beaten by the Bloods. But work was a vivid concept now that she mentioned it. It was the last place she wanted to be tonight. And the night was going to be that much longer now that she was set on coming back to his house.

Cameron sat quietly as he looked at Riley. She hadn't said anything yet and he wondered if maybe he said the wrong thing. But she was thinking so negatively and Cameron didn't like it. Why did she have to sit there and point out almost everything he was thinking. He already knew that they shouldn't be together, but that was even more of the reason as to why he wanted her. Because they came from two different bacgrounds.
They could always help each other adjust to their differences. Hell, he'd even take her out shopping if she wanted and buy her whatever her eyes fell upon. Cameron didn't care. As she rested her head on his shoulder, Cameron rested his cheek against her head and hugged her to him. "What are you thinking about?" he asked, as he rubbed her back. Even though he had a feeling that he knew the answer to his question, he had to ask.
